The Alpine Loop
The Alpine Loop is one of the most recognized off-road routes in Colorado, connecting Lake City, Ouray, and Silverton through high-alpine terrain that tops out well above 12,000 feet. The route takes you through historic mining country, across Engineer Pass and Cinnamon Pass, and through scenery that is hard to match anywhere in the state.
A few things to know before you go: The Alpine Loop is a summer-only route, typically open from late June through early October depending on snowpack. Some sections are rated for high-clearance four-wheel drive, and the exposure at altitude means weather can change fast. A capable UTV rental from the Sport or Premium class is a reasonable choice for most of this route. Pro class machines can handle the demanding sections with ease.
Mountain Passes & High-Country Routes
Colorado has no shortage of mountain passes accessible by UTV, many of which connect to larger trail networks or make for a strong destination on their own. Routes in the San Juan range, the Elk Mountains, and along the Continental Divide offer a mix of technical terrain and open ridgeline driving that is hard to replicate on pavement.

The Grand Junction area sits at the edge of one of the most concentrated off-road regions in the West. Riders have access to routes in the Book Cliffs, Rabbit Valley, and the Kokopelli Trail system, and Moab is roughly 110 miles south for those who want to extend a trip into Utah's canyon country.
This corridor is a strong destination for riders based along the Front Range who want a full weekend or multi-day trip. A 5-day package or weekly rental from Motojoe makes the most sense for this kind of trip. You pick up the machine and trailer in Centennial, haul west, and have the flexibility to cover multiple trailheads over several days without being rushed.
The 285 Corridor & Foothills Trails
For riders based in the Denver metro area or southern suburbs, the US-285 corridor offers quick access to a range of foothills riding without the drive time of a full mountain trip. Communities along this route, including Conifer, Evergreen, and areas approaching Bailey and Fairplay, sit close to trail systems and forest service roads that are well-suited for day rides or quick weekend outings.
This is also the corridor most relevant to local Motojoe customers. Riders from the southern Denver suburbs can be on a trail in under an hour, making a 3-day weekend package a practical option even for a closer-to-home trip.

A few things worth thinking through before you book:
Seasonality matters
High-alpine routes like the Alpine Loop are summer-only. Lower elevation trails along the 285 corridor and in the Grand Junction area have longer seasons and are often accessible well into fall.
Match the machine to the trail
Technical high-country routes call for at least a Sport or Premium class UTV. Beginner-friendly forest service roads are well-served by Standard class machines.
Group size affects your options
A 4-seat model gives you more flexibility for families and groups. A 2-seat model is more maneuverable on tighter trail sections.
Build in buffer time.
